Next Parent Meeting will September 30th. We will send home paperwork about the Fall Conference as soon as it becomes available.
Students will meet with T.S.A. once a week and we will offer this alternating between Tuesdays and Fridays. We will publish the schedule and the events we will be working on at each one of the scheduled T.S.A. sessions.
Elementary students will be scheduled for specific afternoons and dates. Fundraising:
We would like to kick off the school year with a T-shirt campaign. We need to have the students design the t-shirt and run this through boosters. We can take and open up again the brain shirt and offer another design too. We would like to have another design up by mid-September.
If we were to pursue a spaghetti dinner and silent auction, we would have to get on this right away. We would need baskets donated, etc. and get this started toward the beginning of the year.
All fundraising needs to follow the Healthy Food Guidelines.
Submitting paperwork for Nationals: Our goal is to begin the process prior to State. It is difficult to submit and project cost until we are closer to the time frame and also know projected numbers in attendance.
Procedures for Signing Up:
Students must sign up to participate through Beyond the Bell and fill out all of the appropriate paperwork so that the office has a copy of everything.
TSA Dues = $25.00
State and National Dues Cost: $15
Building Club Fee: $10 to cover materials.
Conference Costs:
Fall Conference: $100 per student plus cost for transportation and dinner
State: $100 initial cost per family which covers registration cost only; remainder will have to be paid by family or fund-raised
Nationals: $400 initial cost per family; remainder will have to be paid by family or fund-raised
Conferences are all optional. Students are not required to compete to be a member of T.S.A.
Fundraising:
State/Nationals Trips: Commit to major fundraisers and students who work the fundraisers get a percentage of the profits from the fundraisers. Students who don't work the fundraisers, don't get a percentage of money raised.
Conferences:
State: Only quality work will be submitted to state. Notebooks are due two weeks prior to the event. There will be no late submissions. Nationals: Only students who qualify in the top three for a national qualifying event. If the student does not qualify, they will not be attending Nationals. Priority for Nationals is competition and leadership.
Up Coming Speaking Engagements:
City of Thornton: We are waiting for a response back from the City of Thornton and will send a few of our students to represent our school. Once we hear back from the City of Thornton, we will inform parents and students and get a representative group from Nationals to thank them for their support of our trip.
